Provenance: Roger Folley; Alasdair Dunbar; Hammer Mill Oast Collection

Nothing is known about this pen, ink and gouache study of two children, a boy carrying a girl. In the absence of any other indication it is likely to be an illustration for a children’s story of the type Dunbar produced - and sometimes wrote - in the years between leaving school and taking up full-time study at the Royal College of Art. This would date it to 1925-29.
