Though self taught Brangwyn was one of the most gifted of Twentieth Century British draughtsmen. His skill rivaled that of his contemporaries Orpen and John but in the range and technical daring of his work he was much more adventurous than either. He adored experimenting with mixed media, often combining pen and ink, brush, chalk, pencil, crayon and wash.
