Cundall visited New York both before and after WW2. A  painting of Coenties Slip, the historic waterfront of Lower Manhattan,  was  exhibited at the Royal Academy in 1940 (RA 277).  In the 1950's  Cundall also made paintings of Central Park and the recently constructed United Nations Building.
