Stephen Bone:
Milford on Sea and Hordle - Toad's Hole

Unframed (ref: 8855)
Oil on canvas
20 x 24 in. (50.8 x 60.9 cm) The location of the painting is believed to be Cliff Walk, Barton on Sea. It has also been suggested that Toad's Hole could be reference to Taddiford Gap (Toad Ford); although the cliff has eroded so much it is difficult to place exactly.

We are grateful to Bob Braid of the Milford on Sea Historical Record Society for his assistance.
