Woodford specialised in heraldic sculpture, most notable among which was his series of ten animals for the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II, known as ‘The Queen’s Beasts’.  He undertook numerous commission for the Royal family, including designing the mascot for HRH the Duke of Edinburgh's car, and commissions for British Embassies throughout the Empire.
