For the 1925 Rome Scholarship in Mural Painting Halliday produced The Marriage of the Virgin (1924-5, entry for the first round) and Christian and Hopeful (1925, entry for the second round).  This pencil study, which is dated to 1925, appears to relate to one of these two compositions.
