The same utensils feature in an early still life panel by Belleroche dating to circa 1890.
Belleroche was passionate about 17th century Dutch art and after visiting Harlem as an art student, with his friend John Singer Sargent, Belleroche's early paintings especially show the influenced of Frans Hals and Rembrandt.
