Provenance: The Artist's family

This was painted during Palmers student years at the Royal College of Art. The stylised composition shows  the influence of the previous generation of Slade and RCA students, who immediately preceded him, such as Stanley and Gilbert Spencer, James Bateman and Gerald Cooper.
