This is a test sheet for the proof, without colour, for the book illustrations of Tolstoy's Anna Karenina, Cambridge University Press, 1951 - one of Freedman's most accomplished achievements in the field of book illustration.  Issued as part of the Limited Editions Club in 1951 the publication comprised two volumes bound in cloth decorated with lithographic drawings by Barnett Freedman drawn on and printed from a phenominal 225 stones, printed  at the Curwen Press.
