Provenance: The Artist's Estate
In 1952 Dunbar accompanied her husband Roger Folley to the West Indies. Folley, a horticultural economist, had been appointed to a UK government commission to examine and report on the West Indian citrus-growing industry. Although Dunbar travelled abroad fairly frequently, painting was something she laid aside when overseas, so this water colour sketch is something of a rarity.
