From 'The Commedia Dell' Arte' etchings Jealousy depicts 'Harlequin dancing galy with Colombine out of the light intthe shadows, awaited by a jealous and vindictive figure at the corner, stepping out of the dark and drawing a hat pin from her head. The composition was derived directly from the Arts and Dramatic Club production at Hanoever Square and weree based on a design for the ballet pantomime on a very small stage.
We are grateful to Richard Grenville Clark for assistance.
