Provenance: The Artist's Family

Following in the footsteps of artists like William Holman Hunt and Edward Lear, Sorrell made several painting trips to record the Ancient World. He visited Greece in the early 1950's and early 1960's.  This study shows  the west end of the Parthenon on the right and the Erechtheum on the left.

We are grateful to Nancy Ramage for assistance.
