This shows the artist's first home, in Long Compton, Warwickshire, seen from the back garden. In 1954 Evelyn and Roger assembled all the Christmas cards they had put together between them since the first in 1942 in a loose-leaf folder. They planned to publish them as an album, but the project never came to anything. Evelyn added her own note to each one. For 1945 she simply wrote "Our first house" This was her and Roger's first married home.
