Provenance: The Artist's daughter

This unstretched canvas from Mahoney's studio expresses the artist's interest in the metaphysical side of nature.  Possibly observed en plein air, possibly imagined, it locks into his preoccupation with the power of Nature, and a fascination with Metamorphosis as an ever present force. Mahoney's daughter recalls her father referring to  'One Place' - a probably  imaginary location with which this composition can be associated.
