Bone attended the Slade between 1922 and 1924.  The names of his  teachers appear humorously  in the shop names - Henry Tonks Confectioner, R. Schwarbe Stamps Bought and Sold.  Bone's  1928 mural for Picadilly Circus Underground Station had a similar theme of shops on the high street.
